Blacktoft Sands has over 250 species of bird and has the largest tidal reedbed in England. The reserve is important for breeding bearded tits, bitterns and marsh harriers, and offers breaktaking sights throughout the year.

Howden Minster consists of the elaborately decorated ruins of a 14th century chancel and chapter house, attached to the still operational cathedral-like minster church. Near to Goole, Howden itself is a lovely village to take a day trip to in its own right.
