Carlisle
Carlisle, known as 'the Border City' is a major commercial and retail centre for the North East of England. The product of many hundreds of years of history, the city became a Vcitorian railway city in the 19th century, due to its location, and is still a hub for the region in many ways.

Carlisle Castle is one of Cumbria's best loved landmarks. With nine centuries of history, the castle site was a Roman stronghold before the medieval castle was built, and today makes a full family day out.
